Meet Our Interim Pastor

Rev. Ruth Wagner Bradshaw

Hello everyone at Redeemer UCC. My name is Rev. Ruth Wagner Bradshaw (Ruth, Pastor Ruth, Rev. Ruth - I am not picky) and I am excited to serve as your interim pastor.

I grew up in Michigan and Illinois and attended college in Iowa. Eventually, I married my husband, Tom, and we ended up moving to Vermont. I worked as an office assistant at a local company and then as the Christian Education Coordinator At College Street UCC. During that time our two kids were born, so we were a busy family.

I had thought about being a pastor before, but by the time I reached my early thirties, that call became undeniable. So I enrolled at Andover Newton Theological School, which at that time was in Massachusetts. I took a few classes at a time - commuting for most of them, but also taking a few in the new online format. After 6 years of study, I graduated with a Master of Divinity in 2003.

In the 20-plus years that followed, I have served churches in both rural and urban areas. Every congregation is unique - and yet, in each setting I have been able to work with the congregation toward discerning and responding to God's call. Now, as an interim pastor, I find that I deeply enjoy the work of helping a congregation look at itself honestly and lovingly during a time of fruitful transition. I look foward to serving with all of you at Redeemer UCC as we worship, pray, work and serve together.
